Mexico-based Dellekamp Arquitectos shared with us ‘New Palace-Lecumberri’, their proposal for the new archive in Mexico City Competition. They were one of the two finalists. More images and architect’s description after the break.

Italy-based NOVAE Architecture shared with us their project “0°01’ W Network in motion”, their proposal for a competition to design an adaptable floating gallery in London, UK. More images and architect’s description after the break.

Amidst finishing the second installation of the High Line with James Corner Field Operations, and beginning to design the Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles, DS + R has carved out a little pocket of time to add the finishing touches to their redesign of Lincoln Center. According to the Times, the team has turned their attention to the smaller details of project, specifically the Center’s electronic infoscape. It takes a lot to stop a New Yorker, yet Reynold Levy, Lincoln Center’s president, told the Times, “We think this will cause them to stop in their tracks and really take a look. We are endeavoring to create a feeling, engender a mood, provide a sense of the drama and the beauty of what goes on in our halls. We want to attract passers-by, but we also want to surprise Upper West Siders.”

Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects’ Glasshouse is Port Macquarie’s newest cultural center. Comprised of a 600-seat performing arts theater, a 600m2 Regional Art Gallery, a studio theatre, conference facilities and a community workshop, the design activates the growing city, encouraging the public to experience or participate in a variety of activities.

Special thanks to our reader, Vivian Bratone, for sharing some insight to Steven Holl’s newest museum project with us. Situated in Pearl Spring near Nanjing, China, the museum is only a part of the Chinese International Practical Exhibition of Architecture (CIPEA) complex. The CIPEA project is a complete collaboration of architects from across the world, from Italy to Japan, and Mexico to Croatia. Upon completion, the complex will include more than a dozen buildings that will house exhibits for arts and culture.

The first phase of the Qingdao Water City development at Aoshan Bay, designed by the Los Angeles office of NBBJ, will include a new exposition center of 1,940,000 sf. As the ocean sits to one side of the site, and a wetland on the other, a strong emphasis has been placed on how the exposition is shaped by its interaction and proximity to the water.

BFLS won an international design competition in 2007 to design a new building for the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Wales’ leading music and drama conservatoire. The new addition to the College’s professional training and performance facilities will comprise the 150‐seat Richard Burton Theatre, along with the 450‐seat Chamber Recital Hall, four Acting & Movement Studios and an Exhibition Gallery.
